ABOUT THE PROGRAM

  • Practice and improve listening, speaking, reading, writing, and grammar skills
  • Learn about United States history, geography, and government
  • Review naturalization process and civic rights and responsibilities of U.S. citizens
  • Prepare for written and oral citizenship tests

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS 

ELL A020N - Citizenship

This noncredit course is one in a series of two courses designed to help beginning non-native speakers of English prepare for the U.S. citizenship test. Students will learn about important elements of U.S. history, geography, government, and culture. Special attention will be given to writing conventions and reading skills assessed in the U.S. citizenship interview.

Noncredit. Pass/No Pass/Satisfactory Progress. Not degree applicable. Not Transferable. 

Citizenship and ELL classes are noncredit (0 units) and tuition-free.

 

CERTIFICATE INFORMATION & COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

Students who successfully pass all classes in a program earn a Certificate of Completion. Visit the online  for certificate requirements and course descriptions. 

 

PRACTICE CITIZENSHIP INTERVIEW TEST 

Students currently enrolled in an English Language Learning class may schedule a one-on-one  with a certified test proctor to prepare for your USCIS Citizenship Interview Test.
