Counseling

• Counseling Services

  Our 5 full-time and 4 part-time counselors provide Academic, Career, and Personal Counseling. Each EOPS student is unique, and we take a personal interest in serving you. We strive to get to know students on an individual basis. We develop close relationships by visiting with students at least three times each semester, including your APR.

  We update educational plans, semester worksheets and discuss educational or career goals, academic progress, and personal issues during these appointments. Make an appointment to see an EOPS counselor as soon as possible... let us know how we can help you.

  Remember, students are required to meet with an EOPS counselor a minimum of three times each semester.

• TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT
  Call the EOPS Front Desk at (714) 432-5817 or schedule it online in EOPS Canvas Community Center. Students can schedule appointments up to 2 weeks in advance!
• To Cancel an appointment
  If you need to cancel an appointment, please contact our office immediately via phone (714) 432-5817 or in the EOPS Canvas.

• YOUR COMMITMENT TO THE EOPS PROGRAM
  • Enrolling full-time at OCC (12 units or more per semester)
  • Maintaining a 2.0 GPA ("C") or better
  • Upload your Academic Progress Report (APR) on time for the Fall and Spring semester and meet with an EOPS counselor during APR Week
  • Complete the following three required contacts:
    • 1st one-hour EOPS counseling appointment -Create a Student Education Plan
      • (2nd semester 1st appointment can be a 1/2 hour or a hour) 
    • 2nd EOPS counseling drop-in during APR Week (Academic Progress Report
    • 3rd EOPS counseling appointment -Revise Student Education Plan)
      • (can be 1 hour or a 1/2 hour whatever you need)

EOPS POLICIES

• New "No Show"** Policy

  If you have three “No Shows” in one semester in EOPS at ºÚÁÏÉçÇø, you will need to meet with the EOPS Director.

  **A “No Show” is defined as missing an appointment for Intake or counseling with an EOPS counselor without proper notification before that appointment.

• New Bus Pass Policy

  ºÚÁÏÉçÇø Students Ride the OC Bus FREE!

  With unlimited rides on all OC Bus local fixed routes, it's easy to hop aboard for school, work, or shopping. Relax and ride safe, comfortable air-conditioned buses while avoiding parking costs, high gas prices, and traffic hassles as well as contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment. 

  • All full‐time, part‐time, and non‐credit enrolled students are eligible.
  • Unlimited rides on all 53 OC Bus local fixed routes.

  • To create your account, you must use your registered ORANGE COAST COLLEGE email address. Your pass will appear in the "My Ticket" section.
